Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott Join ‘Knives Out’ Threequel, ‘Wake Up Dead Man’
Three more names to add to the cast of Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man, the third film in the Knives Out saga: Kerry Washington (Scandal), Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers), and eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close.
Variety first reported about Scott on Tuesday, with Deadline breaking the Kerry Washington news on Wednesday, and The Hollywood Reporter doing the same for Glenn Close a few hours later. Previous confirmed names include Cailee Spaeny and Josh O’Connor. Tom Hardy and Lindsay Lohan are also names that have appeared online, but the Hollywood trades haven’t confirmed yet.
Production on Wake Up Dead Man, the third film in the Benoit Blanc series of muder mysteries, is set to go underway soon. The film will be the second installment under the Netflix deal wirter-director Rian Johnson, producer Ram Bergman, and star Daniel Craig signed with Netflix three years ago. Glass Onion in late 2022 followed 2019’s Knives Out, which Lionsgate distributed theatrically.
As far as we know, the deal hasn’t been renewed yet. Johnson and Bergman have a two-picture deal at Warner Bros. that was announced earlier this year, so we will probably say goodbye to Benoit Blanc for a while after the threequel debuts on Netflix in 2025.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
