‘Wake Up Dead Man’: Cailee Spaeny, Josh O’Connor, Tom Hardy, Lindsay Lohan Join Third Benoit Blanc Film
The floodgates are now open. As pre-production continues on Wake Up Dead Man, the threequel in the Benoit Blanc film series from writer-director Rian Johnson, the first few names of the cast have appeared online.
What’s On Netflix reported on Monday that both Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Priscilla) and Josh O’Connor (Challengers) are in negotiations to star in the pic. Deadline and other trades later confirmed the news.
The former website also lumped in two more names: Tom Hardy and Lindsay Lohan, though these two have not been confirmed yet by any of the major Hollywood publications.
Rian Johnson announced the title of the new film late last week, which already hinted at more announcements coming soon. This is the second film in the two-picture deal he, producer Ram Bergman, and star Daniel Craig signed with Netflix. Glass Onion, the sequel to Knives Out and the first outing of that deal, came out in late 2022 and went on to enter the Top 10 Most Watched Films of All Time for Netflix. In the second half of 2023, as the streamer reported last week, the film accumulated another 19M hours watched.
Wake Up Dead Man will premiere on Netflix in 2025.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
