‘The Penguin’ Second Teaser Releaesd, Coming Out This September
Max revealed on Thursday the second teaser trailer for The Penguin, the first spin-off series from Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Colin Farrell reprises his role from the 2022 film, with Reeves returning to exec produce.
Check out the new teaser here:
The series is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, showrunner and writer Lauren LeFranc, Craig Zobel, and Bill Carraro. Zobel also directed the first three episodes. The cast includes Colin Farrell (Oz Cobb), Cristin Milioti (Sofia Falcone), Rhenzy Feliz (Victor Aguilar), Michael Kelly (Johnny Viti), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Nadia Maroni), Deirdre O’Connell (Francis Cobb), Clancy Brown (Salvatore Maroni), James Madio (Milos Grapa), Scott Cohen (Luca Falcone), Michael Zegen (Alberto Falcone), Carmen Ejogo (Eve Karlo), Theo Rossi (Dr. Julian Rush).
The Penguin will come out in September, though a specific date hasn’t been announced yet. It’s a Max exclusive, meaning no linear HBO release. Thursdays are usually the day of Max originals, so look out for that. HBO is currently airing the second season of House of the Dragon, whose eight-episode run will conclude in August. It will be followed up by season 3 of Industry.
A sequel to The Batman continues in the works at Warner Bros., and though it’s been dated for 2026, there are currently no updates on the status of the script. An optimistic scenario would be that it will start shooting before the end of the year, though it will likely happen in early 2025.
Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student that has movies as his second passion in life. His favorite movie of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he is also a huge Star Wars fan. However, fantasy movies are not his only cup of tea, as authors like Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him since he started to understand the language of filmmaking. He is that guy who will watch a black and white movie, just because it is in black and white.
